Mechanical Technical Associate – 2nd shift

As a technician you will be responsible for leading the daily monitoring and optimization of the manufacturing processes for improved efficiency, output, and performance. In this position, the technician will perform duties of maintenance, troubleshooting, and production line support of the Traditional Lighting processes as well as the Solid State Lighting process.
In conjunction with the Maintenance Foreman, they will develop process, maintenance, and equipment improvement strategies to yield continuous improving results. The Technician will foster team excellence through direct support for the Supervisors, Maintenance Foreman, and the Engineering staff as well as the production associates. The Technician will hold a commitment to departmental and plant performance through organizational activities such as LEAN, TPM, and Sylvania Suggestion System. The Technician will coach all mechanics and technical personnel on all aspects of the equipment and process. This person must be able to work flexible hours (overtime/weekends) as required on a continual basis to address the technical concerns of all shifts.

*Strong ability to independently create innovative equipment ideas and prototypes.
*Solid ability to fabricate new solutions or modify existing parts/machinery.
*Strong mechanical background with proven work history.
*Proven work experience on highly automated equipment.
*Structured problem solving techniques through data driven analysis.
High school graduate or GED required.
Formal trade school education or an associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
